Just around 2 hours from Ho Chi Minh to My Tho, a partly Mekong Delta region of southern Vietnam, My Tho has become a favorite place to explore this river waters. My Tho has a long history, culture and heritage. Founded in the 1680s, My Tho used to be a part of the former Khmer Empire, then a major strategic area, along with Saigon, during the French colonial area. Coming here, you can visit beautiful islands, friendly locals and immersing in peaceful landscapes, surrounded by waters.
Detail Itinerary:
Breakfast at hotel, then our guide will pick you up to My Tho, Tien Giang province to discover Mekong Delta – a symbol of Southern Vietnam.
Embark on sampan boat, then cruise will give you a sightseeing of the four islands: Dragon, Unicorn, Turtle, Phoenix and Rạch Miễu bridge.
Next, heading to Thoi Son (Unicorn Island, the biggest island in this area with more than 1,200 hectares and about 11 km length to see hives and enjoy honey tea at local people’s house.
Taking horse-carriage or electric cart along the village road, and enjoy the fresh atmosphere of river region.
Taking a rest at a farm-house to enjoy some fresh tropical fruits and listen to some traditional music performed by local people.
Coming back the small sampan boat to explore continuously a beautiful natural canal and enjoy the countryside peace here.
The next stop is An Hoa Island, Ben Tre Province to visit a coconut candy workshop – a typical traditional food of this river waters.
Before returning My Tho City and enjoy fresh coconut on the boat, you will enjoy lunch with Mekong Delta food at our local restaurant.
